I am homeschooled, but i am thinking about going back to highschool. My mom thinks that if i go back i will get made fun of cause i have red hair. Is she right? Should i reconsider going back to school?

My mom is not mean, she just does not want me too come home all upset or somthing cause people made fun of me at school.

Kids make fun of anything that is a bit different - they're like that.
But having red hair isn't all that different - millions of people have red hair, and some guys LOVE girls with red hair.
Let's face it, blondes have had their day, and all too often they're associated with airheads. Brunettes are rather common, so red hair seems the cool thing right now...
At the end of the day, it would be crazy to let the fact that you have red hair affect whether you go to high school. If you want to go, go. You may well widen your circle of friends and have a blast!
Besides, it may just be that your Mum likes having you at home, that she wants to protect you, or (more sinister) she might like the fact that she has control over you at home.
Do whatever you'd be happiest doing. :)

your mom is just being over protective because you've been home schooled. You should really go back and experience high school. AND no!! no one should make fun of you because you have red hair. If you know how to accessories it right with what you wear, you should be good to go!!! cheer up there's not a lot of people with red hair, so that make you UNIQUE!! =D

Could you clarify something? You seem to be saying that your mum won't let you go back to school because you'll be teased because you have red hair? Is that right? It seems a extremely protective of her if that's the case. If that's not the case then I don't know how to answer because that seems to be the point you're making. Going to school means you'd get to mix with lots of different people your age, of different colours, classes, creeds, religions etc- school is not just about lessons! She seems to making some sort of point that people with red hair are in some way 'different' which is not a positive attitude and in facts just supports the people she thinks will tease you. I'm sure most parents would want their children to be more free-thinking and independently minded than that.

I really don't think so...red hair is gorgeous, in fact I knew many girls in highschool that dyed their hair red. Don't worry about your hair color in your choice to go back to highschool. Your mom might just be trying to protect you from the difficulties of clicks and such and although highschool can be rough at times, there are many good times too. It's up to you what you want to do, just know that u won't be made fun of because of your hair.

Absolutely not! It's not like you are going to be the only redhead in the school. Don't let your mom or a fear of being made fun of keep you from going to high school if that is what you really want.

I think that red hair is BEAUTIFUL. I'm stuck with dull brown hair. :)
But seriously, you should really consider going back to high school. One of my friends has red hair and she's one of the most social people at our school. If you have an environment of normal people, they should totally think the opposite of what your mom thinks.
Stuff that don't show up much in people make them more special than others.

have you been made fun of before because of it,if so just don't go back to the same school try another,but i really don't see why they would make fun just because of red hair,are you sure your mom is not just trying to keep you in the house.

Well it is high school...if you had black, blonde, or brown hair you would get made fun of for SOMETHING....lol. Thats just how it is...And i personally think red hair is gorgeous!
Ya know, i think maybe if your mom has red hair she might've got teased some about it, so that could be why....Or she just doesn't want you in school....

dont reconsider- a few kids MIGHT make fun of you for the first day or so, but then youll be fine. tons of people have red hair and some are really pretty!

Your mom might be right, but you will never know until you go back. If you do get picked on, so what you shouldn't care about what people think. It doesn't matter what you look like or what you have people are always going to find something wrong.
