My tv is hd ready, but I was wondering if it's worth it to spend out on the hd box and monthly payment. How much better is the tv picture when you have hd?

If you have a smaller TV, I imagine there will be some improvement, but how much, I don't know. If you have a larger tv, there will be a huge, noticeable difference between SD and HD programming.

It's kind of like when you have a low resolution photo from a 1mp camera and a high resolution photo from an 8MP camera. They both look fine when they're small and you're looking at them sized at let's say 640x480. But view the 8MP at 100% and view the 1MP photo so it's the same size as the 8MP one and it looks like crap.

HD looks so much better--the biggest bummer as others have mentioned is the relative lack of HD programming.

seems only movies out there and not much more ! hd tv's should really be on hd box for the best picture quality, not on normal Aeriel , as picture is not so good .the old wide screen tvs where the best !! seems like they brought out the new tec stuff before filming anything in in . don't waste any money for now and keep an eye out for when the programmes you like are there , then get it

It's good for watching movies but very little regular TV is in HD at the minute.

You do realise you will just be watching THE SAME OLD RUBBISH don't you. The picture quality might be better but the programme quality won't be.

Television is finished. HD is just a gimmick to make us spend more money.

Not ecky Boy hit the nail on the head, that true fact aside, HD is just a money making scam, and we are buying into it.
