Nice logic there. You're confusing the fact that people have the ability to do various things with the fact that some of those things are immoral, some are moral, etc. Using your line of argument, any behavior would be OK since God "allows" us free will to do it. Child molesting? Well people do it, God must be allowing them to do it, so I guess it's the molester's right to choose it. And us Christians should just shut up about it. Because free speech is really only for what liberals agree with. Don't dare point out that something is morally wrong - it might make a liberal feel guilty.

Well I'm an atheist, and I still agree with laws prohibiting abortion. If you believe that life begins at conception (as most scientists concede, although they say it's not yet viable so it's okay to terminate), then you can see why a law prohibiting abortion makes sense. The same way that a law prohibits murder. Only an anarchist says let's do away with all laws and let free will reign. I don't know of too many Christian anarchists, but that's what you would be looking for to answer your question.

Yes, God does give us free will- however, when Jesus faced the woman caught in adultery and had the men cast the first stone, if they were without sin- what did He say to her when her accusers left? "Go and sin no more". Pro-choice as known in the abortion world is not a good choice- God desires us all to make the right decision and accept Jesus as a payment for our bad choices. Jesus does ask us to be like Him. We cannot be like Him when we do things on our own. We can only become like Him when we give our life to Him, and accept His payment for our sins. If God does not care what CHOICE we make there would be no heaven or hell. But because He is Holy and He is God, He is just and their must be payment for sin, so if we choose to not accept that, then we will be in hell. He leaves that choice to us, because He wants us to want to love Him and live with Him. We are not puppets on a string.

God is definitely about choice, I agree with you. Why is it then that Christians can't sit still? Because although God gives you the choice, He has told us to help you make the right choice.
Matthew 28: 18-20 says, "And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen."
That's why we can't leave well enough alone. We've got work to do!

God does allow us to choose, but this does NOT mean that our choice is right. God did not program us so we had to be robots. But God put in laws such as THOU SHALL NOT MURDER. if you wanted to go kill some adult you knew, you have the ability to do so, BUT that would be wrong and you would be punished (jail) because of the laws. Same way with abortion. It is murder, but currently there isn't a law against it. Do you know HOW they murder the babies? Please look at this website to find out.

God still gives us basic principles to live by. the commandments are just that--commanded, not suggested. You do have free will and you do make your own choices but that doesn't mean God is always pleased with our decisions.

Because I have free will to comment. and no I don't insist in anything. I don't judged people for what they are doing as long as no one gets hurt. But I do express my feelings. Not all Christians "shove their believes down peoples throat". I think you generalize to much.
