This 22 year old woman was here since she was 7 years old she has no legal status, has 2 kids and recently was diagnosed with breast and cervical cancer.
She entered a raffle at a spanish radio station .
The price was a 1999 Corvet donated from a famous Mexican/American singer.
The only rule was to be present at time of drawing.
Well she won the car but the radio station lawyer told her tha t if she claim her price He will call U.S. immigration and Customs Enforcement to get her deported.
The radio station is the one that organized the "famous" march of people last year.
In a separate incident this month,Toys R Us agreed to award a chinese american infant born in New York a 25,000 prize in a New Year's baby contest after the company was criticized for disqualifying the girl because her mother was (is) an illegal immigrant from china.
Do you think the radio station should give this poor woman (now she is in hiding because she is afraid), the car she won?

for those stupid ignorants that woman pay taxes and have a special number and report her income to IRS.
So if she pay taxes and follow THAT rule from a SPANISH/MEXICAN radio station, what is the problem there?

Absolutly. Was she presant at the draw. It has nothing to do with her residency status.

The problem is illegality! Knowbody wants to take this seriously, and for the benefactors the story's are now to public to go against American policy.
It would be difficult not to have sympathy for these unfrortunate souls, and perhaps the publicity will draw attention to their plight. We all want to see the illigal immigrant problem resolved in a win, win situation for all! For the radio station and Toys R Us, their hands are tied, the government will make examples of them, if they fight the system.

I don't agree with you because no matter how you look at it
illegal immigrants are queue jumpers!!!!!
They should wait their turn
If everyone just done that say millions of people
turn up in a country without having planned for those people
there would not be enough food water clothes housing schools Dr hospitals transport etc etc

They are both right and both wrong. The radio station should have stipulations in place so this doesn't happen and she shouldn't have the gall to enter the contest in the first place...
She should get the car because of their stupidity and probably sell it to pay for cancer treatment before being deported.

you've had the the tin open too lengthy again have not you? it is going to bypass blue and mouldy in case you depart it a lot longer! i have advised you in the previous, in case you could't end the tin without caution, conceal it with some cellophane so as that it continues to be tremendous and clean. ;p

I know that her ebeing illegal is not her fault...however I don't think she should get the car for several reasons....
We have to stop illegal immigration....and in order to do that we have to treat every illegal the same....we can't pick and choose which ones are ok and which are not.....illegal is illegal and send them home and allow them to come back legally.

Yeah, they should give it to her. It's hypocritical that the only rule was to be present and they organized the Immigration March, but now she is in hiding from fear.

No I don't think so. People who are here illegally should be afraid and have enough "real" fear that they would never foolishly engage in something in the public eye.
