The ankh is an ancient Egyptian symbol for life and the life force. Its only connection to the Christian cross is the fact that it was adopted by the fourth century Christian church in Egypt, which eventually became the Coptic church and called it the crux ansata (cross with handle), as opposed to the crux ordinaria (Latin cross). Ankh=life. Cross=everlasting life through Jesus.

The ankh has the circle of life in it, the cross is just a dead tree.

To the person who said the ankh was a symbol of witchcraft - you are a shining example of christian ignorance!!!!!

Ankh symbolizes life, where cross symbolizes Christs death/resurrection.

Ankh has a circle atop, where the cross is just a line.

Ankh is used more in egyptian culture, Cross is in roman culture.

cross is a symbol of death and destruction, the ankh is a symbol of life and reincarnation, if you mixed the two it means bringer of death and life. but i dont like crosses and anything mixed with a cross would be too evil to handle.

The ankh is a symbol used in witchcraft and attracts devils to the wearer, no matter who it is. There are no Christian symbols.
