When I woke up this morning I woke up with 8-11 brand new mosquito bites on my right leg. I knot only have bites there, but I have 7 bites on my left leg, 1 bite on my neck, 2 bites on my left arm, and 1 bite on my armpit! They're everywhere!!!!! They are in my room I tell you that. I put citronella candles with me in my sleep and wear pajamas to prevent the mosquitoes from climbing up my leg. It never works!!!! I am tired of waking up every morning with a new bite! What should I do to keep them away from me, besides bombing my room?

It may be mosquitos, it may be bedbugs, it may be fleas, it may be spiders. Clean the room thoroughly, change the sheets, spray the mattress, and, if you have pets, de-flea them.

Forgive me if I'm missing something obvious, but why don't you just sleep under a mosquito net? It's not like they're even expensive.

If the holes are too big, try getting a midge net. Midges are very small, so the holes are smaller (about half the size). Mosquitos definitely can't get through. I don't know where you live or whether you have midges there (all I know is that there are midges in Scotland), so you might not be able to get a midge net.

In any case, using a physical barrier like a net is a whole lot healthier for you than using a chemical barrier, which never seem to work that well anyway.

Stewie has trained you very well. Cats often become active when it starts to get light and he has discovered different ways of getting your attention. The best thing to do is to stop rewarding the behaviour by ignoring him completely. You'll need nerves of steel to do this (and maybe even a set of ear-plugs) but after a couple of weeks, he'll realise that his attention seeking isn't working and he'll give up. I don't know if you prefer to have him sleep with you at night, but you may find it easier to ignore his morning antics if you keep him out of the bedroom. If you have carpeted floors, place a thicky PVC carpet mat outside the bedroom door as this will deter him from scratching there in case he decides to try that as an alternative method of getting your attention. He's still a young cat and will eventually settle into a sleep pattern that fits in more with your own. Hope this helps.

You need to find someone that sales Avon. Skin So Soft is the best to use for this. You can get it in an oil or lotion and it works wonders. It wasnt meant to be a repellent, it just sort of turned out that way. Good Luck! I would also like everyone else said was your sheets a few times a week!

How positive are you that this is from mosquitoes? Are you actually seeing them in your room? If so, try to keep your room sealed up so more can't get in, and then you may want to look for mosquito netting for your bed to keep them away from you at night.

If you aren't actually seeing mosquitos, though, it's possible these bites are from bedbugs or dust mites instead. Wash everything on your bed in hot hot HOT water, and see if that makes any difference. If not, you may want to try buying plastic covers for your mattress and pillows, which will help keep any bugs or dust mites from getting to you. Vacuum your room thoroughly and get rid of any carpet you have in there if you can (to cut back on places where dust mites like to hang out).

Good luck!

you have cats and dogs.....it could be flea bites....i get them all the time even in the winter and i live in Michigan.
try skin so soft from Avon....that works.
I would bomb the room with a flea bomb if i was you....also I would put flea powder between the sheet and the bed. That won't harm you. I've done that for years.
fleas like white and light colored clothes...why i don't know

Are you sure you don't have bed bug bites?...this sounds like a major infestation. If you don't have screens in your windows, or leave doors open a lot then maybe they are mosquitos....Strip those sheets and mattress covers and see if there aren't brown bugs on your mattress. You may have tocall in a pest control company to rid your house of these bugs.

Are you sure they are mosquito bites. Maybe they are bed bugs. If you wake up with them every day.

Go to www.cdc.gov and look up bed bugs. Then look in the cracks around the edge of your mattress.

Try calamine lotion or hydrocortisone cream.

Try Skin So Soft from Avon. You might not like the smell but I think they have another product they developed because the SSS works so well. That way you don't go to bed all greasy and smelling like....well....Skin So Soft! Also sounds like it might be bed bugs from the overwhelming answers.
