Could take a month. Depends on how fast the business is that is giving you the refund. Your cc company can tell you.

If the purchase was made in the United States, depending on who the credit card company you purchased the item with, you generally have about 30 days. However, I have see charge backs as far out as 60 days.
Keep in mind, if the company you bought the item from has a signed credit card receipt from you or the three digit security code on the back of your card for online puchases, it's harder to dispute the charges.

In the UK you can not cancel a credit card payment. If the goods you purchased were unsatisfactory and you returned them to the shop, the shop does a "returns credit" to the card company, they credit the amount to your account. The credited amount should show up on your next statement, a credit should go through at the same speed as a debit .

If you;'re saying to cancel or stop payment...usually up to thirty days...but you need to contact your financial institution for the specifics of your own account.
