A guarded prognosis is the middle ground between a "Fair" prognosis and a "Poor" prognosis. It means that due to other things going on with your (what we call co-morbidity) your prognosis is tenuous. Hope that helps

Guarded prognosis means you are not critical any more but your condition could turn for the worse or better at any time.

To the best of my knowledge, it means the prognosis is somewhere between poor and fair - there is some uncertainty involved.

It means that the patient has gotten over "the worst of it" but still has to be closely monitored because it could still go either way.
