If you have any other income for 2006, like another job or interest from a bank account, then wait until you get forms from them too.

When you have all the information, if you made enough that you have to file or if you didn't, but want to file, you will fill out a tax return. If you don't have any dependents and the W-2 shows all your income (or if the rest is just interest from a bank account) you can probably use form 1040-EZ. Download a copy at irs.gov. It's simple enough that you should be able to do it yourself, don't pay somebody to do something that simple for you. Do it line by line, and just follow the instructions.

If you do not know what to do with your W-2, then you definitely need to go to a tax filer (i.e. H&R Block).
