I have astigmatism and I recently learned that this can be fixed and I would like more information. I don't know where to look.

There are several kinds of laser surgery available for astigmatism. However, there is a limit on the amount of correction, and the cornea needs to be a certain thickness and curvature. Make sure to go a clinic that measures the cornea to see if you meet the minimum requirements - some clinics treat people even though they know the eye is not the right shape for the procedure to work well. This link is the place I went to - they rejected me because my cornea is shaped like a football instead of being round.

It sounds to me like you need to find another eye doctor. My son recently switched from glasses to contacts, and he has astigatism. He sees quite well with his contacts. I suggest you call another eye doctor's office and tell them what's going on with your vision, and ask them for their professional opinion about your vision while wearing your contacts. It really kind of defeats the purpose of having the contacts if you can't see with them.
