You ask your question very sensibly so I cannot believe that you'll be a pest. If, as a 13 yr old, you are aware of the potential problems then I'm sure that you'll have the patience and understanding required. You might be able to get a paper round, too young for babysitting I'm afraid, or offer to clean cars, maybe with one of your brothers or sisters. But mainly just be prepared to eat whatever if on offer, go without treats, share, maybe you could even have a sort through old toys etc that you may have and try to have a garage sale. Finally, try to keep your smile, and work hard at school so that your parents have something positive to hold onto.
I hope that your dad can find a replacement job soon. Good Luck

Well it is really up to your parents to get you all back on your feet- that is your job as a parent.
Maybe you can help out a bit by doing extra chores, turning off lights, walking more places, help to fix things around the house, or try to help find services in your area- look through the phone book or get a hold of the united way.
or things like that. You could also get a paper route or babysit but by no means should all of your money go to support your household..
Any little bit helps when your family is struggling. been there done that.... good luck honey!

Babe there is not a lot you can do to help apart from delivering papers etc.. It is ilegal for you to work at this age and that would just put more pressure on your family. I would suggest that you help around the home etc.. and just try to cheer dad up, he must feel awful not being able to provide for his family. Best wishes babe.

You could do something like a paper round. I lied about my age at the time, but the shopkeeper could easily tell. If you are going to work at such a young age try not let it interfere with your studies.
