I keep mine up Year Round, so they are not "CHRISTMAS LIGHTS". I flick them on on Holidays, in times of national interest, when my teams win or when I wanna feel good about seeing decorative lights.I'll never plan to take them down unless they have to be replaced. They are a permanent fixture on my home as well as in my life and the neighborhood gets a kick out of them. They are subtly hung and accent the the home form w/a delicacy that even Ebanezer would nod at.

We still have ours up. And they will come down when the temp outside is above freezing. They would have come down long ago but with 2 weeks of below 0 weather not including the windchill factors we were not going out to do it. My husband is now away on business and its a lovely {haha} 17 degree's out. Not like we turn them on but I'm not going out if I don't have to. We will get them down when we don't risk freezing our asses off doing it. As for the person saying leaving them up past new years lacks class, well honey on new years day we got 14 inches of snow the temp was -40 {thats right I said negative 40)with the windchill so I welcome you to come to our home and take them down. Normally they are down shortly after Xmas weather permitting.

The only ones we have up still are the icicle lights on the gutter. We waited until it was too cold to take them down, so they just hang there waiting for Spring probably. We don't actually turn them on though.

I took all the decorations down and thought it would look nice to string a set of lights around the headboard on my bed, so they are sort of up, but more as a light decoration.

No way! Leaving them up past the beginning of January lacks so much class, in my opinion. Plus using Christmas lights as décor is very collegiate.

One of my chores every Thanksgiving is to look and see if the Christmas lights are still up.

Looking out my 29th-floor-window at a Toronto Suburb; I'd say about 5% of the thousand homes that I can see.

No way! Took all that down New Year's Day! I might be a little compulsive though, I just have to get everything back to normal as soon as possible or it drives me nuts!!!
