First off, anorexia isn't a fad or something to try to achieve. It's a mental disorder. You can eat something small for a day or two because your appitite isn't there, but you're not "anorexic". Its just human nature. You can't just become anorexic by trying because once again, it is a mental disorder. Trust me, its not pretty because once you start to lose a ton of weight... you grow "fur" on your body to keep it warm. Anyway... here you go..
Diagnostic Criteria:
The following is considered the "text book" definition of Anorexia Nervosa to assist doctors in making a clinical diagnosis... it is in no way representative of what a sufferer feels or experiences in living with the illness. It is important to note that you can still suffer from Anorexia even if one of the below signs is not present (also see the Signs and Symptoms section). In other words, if you think you have Anorexia, it's dangerous to read the diagnostic criteria and think "I don't have one of the symptoms, so I must not be Anorexic".
- Refusal to maintain body weight at or above a minimally normal weight for age and height (e.g., weight loss leading to maintenance of body weight less than 85% of that expected; or failure to make expected weight gain during period of growth, leading to body weight less than 85% of that expected).
- Intense fear of gaining weight or becoming fat, even though underweight.
- Disturbance in the way in which one's body weight or shape is experienced, undue influence of body weight or shape on self-evaluation, or denial of the seriousness of the current low body weight.
- In postmenarcheal females (women who have not yet gone through menopause), amenorrhea (the absence of at least three consecutive menstrual cycles).
There are two types of Anorexics:
- Restricting Type: during the current episode of Anorexia Nervosa, the person has not regularly engaged in binge-eating or purging behavior (i.e., self-induced vomiting or the misuse of laxatives, diuretics, or enemas)
- Binge-Eating Type or Purging Type: during the current episode of Anorexia Nervosa, the person has regularly engaged in binge-eating OR purging behavior (i.e., self-induced vomiting or the misuse of laxatives, diuretics, or enemas)

Anorexia is a mental condition characterized by many different things other than "eating something small for all day". People with anorexia have a long-lasting condition that causes them to believe they weigh too much no matter how much weight they lose. They become obsessed with food and obsessed with not eating.

Anorexia starts when you make the decision to keep yourself hungry.Eating way less or hardly anything at all...so i would say yes u would be anorexic. Just try cutting down your portions a little, eating healthier, and exercising more.

The fact that you seem to be "bargaining" over the definition of anorexia probably means you have an eating disorder.
You could graze all day long on Tic-Tacs and still be anorexic.

Anorexia is a disorder where people are afraid of eating and therefore they don't eat, or they eat little to nothing, but then feel guilty about it.
Normal folks eat 3 small meals a day: breakfast, lunch and dinner. One meal a day is not sufficient.

Anorexic is when you do not eat all for very long time like 12 month's. My friend is anorexic and she has not eaten anything for a very long time and she still thinks that she is fat. See I have not eaten for about 6 months straight.

Anorexia is a complicated disorder that has less to do with eating and more to do with mental issues of control and obsessiveness. If you're concerned that you may be anorexic, please see a doctor or mental health counselor IMMEDIATELY. Anorexia is a serious, dangerous condition that can lead to sudden death. Don't mess around with it.

Anorexia is not going with out food for a certain amount of time, it is a condition where you don't give your body enought food to sustain it's normal functions. You can still eat and have anorexia.
