I hate my friend's boyfriend. She deserves so much better than him. He's the only one that she's ever really dated and besides that, he lives at home, doesn't have a job, and has no money or vehicle. He keeps telling her that he's going to get a job, but doesn't ever really seem to look. How can I get my friend to open her eyes and realize that he's going nowhere and taking her with him?

that is tough.. thing is is that she has to see this on her own... you can tell her till you are blue in the face that this guy is no good... but until he does some thing where she can actually sit back and reflect on things... you have to be supportive... do not be pushy though.. then she might back off from you! it is a fine line.. hang in there and be the strong shoulder for her and hope she sees the light!

well just because you dislike him means nothing. she may see a whole different person in him. love is different, you dont need a guy or girl that has a car, money, and a job. yea it'd be nice but you can't really say its a need. thats like saying you only like a person because of matierial things. an if you want, try to find what she likes in this guy, talk to her. sit her down and explain what you think of this guy, then listen to what she has to say about him.

You can give your opinion about her boyfriend, but the final decision has to be hers. My best friend is in a similar situation. I gave her my opinion when she asked me and it's definitely not in favor of the boyfriend. She's still with him. You can't meddle in their relationship. Just give her time and your support, she'll see the light at the end.

Your friend thinks he's wonderful. She's picked a loser because her own self-esteem is probably below zero. A healthy, confident woman wouldn't go for such a loser; obviously she's not healthy.

She will have to see this on her own. Not much you can do to make her see it. Try to get her interested in going places with you and without him. Maybe someone else will catch her attn.

All you can do is talk to her and tell her.
Some people just keep holding on to a piece of trash just so they have something.
