Yes, large dogs have 5-14 puppies, like St. BErnards, New Foundlands, and Great Danes (You get the idea)

Small dogs like poodles, yorkies, or chiuahas have 1-5 dogs, normally only 1-2 but there has been one instance that I know of that a blue healer dog had 5 pups.

not really. My father has a small dog and got bred by a bassket hound and she had six puppies. And my best friend had a boxer who gave birth to six puppies so I do not think the size determines how many. I could be wrong but sometimes I have seen dogs give birth to a dozen and sometimes to a half dozen

Not at all. The number of pups depends on the number of available eggs that get fertilized. Some breeds dont produce large numbers of eggs in a heat, but others produce more than a dozen. I saw an Irish Wolf Hound once that had 17 pups !

Sometimes it does but not always. A lab can have only 1 pup or 12 pups. So can a Shihzu. So.. yea.
