On Christmas day, my man proposed to me, so were now engaged and thinking of a wedding. We would like to go away somewhere and do it but are not sure where to go or how to go about planning the actual ceremony. I herd the pope marries 1000 couples a year or something. anyone know anything about that? Anyone got any advice on the subject?? Thanks :)

I'm not sure about the Pope marrying you, but I think that unless you are devout Catholic and that is something that means a lot to you, I would pick a destination that appeals to you both on a personal level. I would stay close to home and have a honeymoon somewhere nice so more of your friends and family can be there. It makes planning a lot easier, too. I'm sure there are plenty of beautiful locations close to home.

Don't know anything about the pope idea, but if you are wanting a destination wedding, check out the travel websites. Find a destination you'd like to get married and find a hotel/ resort you'd like to honeymoon. Then leave the ceremony up to the resort wedding planners. I know many of the resorts in Mexico are popular for weddings. Mexico is also a lot cheaper than Hawaii. Although, I'm sure Hawaii would be wonderful!! Check out www.theknot.com. Enjoy!
