Starbucks.

If you don't have kids in the car: open the window and let in the cold air.

Starbucks.

Loud music, but nothing that you can really zone out to.

Well, If you don't want to end up like alot of these drug users that have posted about your question then I recommend drinking lots of cool water because the effects of caffeine wear off really fast and makes you a bit more tired then usual, next keep your car temperature cold! A nice warm environment only will make you want to sleep. Last, stop about every two hours to stretch and walk around a bit. Getting your blood to moving faster will help wake you up.

Good question.

I have driven from Va. to Fla. many times. But I always have at least one other driver with me. We trade off after no more than 4 hours.

Also, don't drink a lot of caffeine. Seriously, it will not help and will make you sleepier. Drink juice instead. Real juice--not all that sugary stuff.

Don't eat a lot. That will definitely make you sleepy. Eat light snacks on the road.

Play good music.

Engage in conversations with your passengers.

Be sure to get a good nights sleep befure you take the drive, Otherwise you put yourself and others on the road at risk to an auto accident if you don't. Other than drinking and driving sleepy drives are second to cause accident.

In addition to insane amount of caffeine and loud music, I find that slapping yourself on the cheeks real hard works well. Failing that, find a safe place to park, and take a 15 min nap - you'll feel a lot better.

THERE ARE OVER THE COUNTER CAFFEINE PILLS ETC. HOWEVER THE BEST REMEDY IS TO STOP AT A TRUCK STOP ( IN A SAFE PLACE ) AND SLEEP ABOUT ONE HOUR - - - ITS CALLED A " POWER NAP " AND YOU CAN DRIVE SEVERAL HUNDRED MORE MILES BEFORE YOU GET TIRED. IT PROBABLY IS GOOD TO HAVE SOME CAFFEINE PILLS AVAILABLE BUT TAKE THEM WITH FOOD. ONE BRAND IS CALLED "JET ALERT" BUT THERE ARE OTHER BRANDS. ASK THE LADY AT A TRUCK STOP WHICH IS THE SAFEST. GET SOME OPINIONS FROM TRUCKERS AT A TRUCK STOP. READ THE LABELS AND YOULL BE ABLE TO MAKE A DECISION. IF YOU PULL OVER AT A TRUCK STOP TO SLEEP BE SURE TO HAVE A BLANKET TO PUT OVER YOU . DONT LEAVE THE ENGINE IDLING FOR HEAT ! ! ! IF YOU HAVE TO SLEEP A WHILE OTHER THAN A TRUCK STOP ASK THE STORE CLERK IF ITS ALRIGHT TO REST A FEW MINUTES IN THEIR PARKING LOT.?
