How Do I Program my DirecTV RCA Universal Remote?

I just got a new TV for Christmas. Unfortunately, I can't remember how to program codes into my DirecTV remote, and I have no idea where the manual is. I haven't been able to find any helpful info online, so I was hoping that somebody here could tell me the right procedure.

You need to tell us the TV brand to find the right code.
