When people mock religious questions here on yahoo answers? I know everyone is allowed to have their own beliefs and opinions but why do people find it necessary to mock or even openly hate other's beliefs? If you do not agree with the religious questions being asked on here, you do not have to answer them or read any questions in the religion section.

That is such a terrific point. It is okay to talk about, but what is the point in the constant debate? More than likely, we are not going to change one another's minds. When I started this, out of naivety, I answered a few questions pertaining to such. That was before I realized that some didn't want the answers, but to keep a feud going. I learned it is pointless and I, too, get tired of the continuous insults.

Yes, it does. But not everyone is mocking or disgusting either. Just a select few who think they are GOD. You can state your beliefs and views without saying the other person's is rubbish or trash or stupid or a host of other terms I have read here. It upsets some that there are different views than theirs and they rant and rave and get pissed off about it. I wouldlike ONCE to get into a discussion about different beliefs without being called names or being judged. I have many questions unanswered too.

dunno, why do people find it ok that when i ask a serious question regarding the bible they turn and bite me? for isntance i asked peoples interpretations and opinions on a verse i had currently read, and each answer was "your taking it out of context, read the whole chapter!" and "you need to study the bible more your obviously ignorant of it" and things like that. when all i did was ask a question. i stop relying on religious folk for any serious answers cause they obviously feel attacked whenever u ask them a question regardless if its serious or not. infact, more non-religious folks gave me interpretations, while the religious just accused me.

I agree 100% it is very insulting really but its always my prayer that all the atheists who answer the questions actually learn something about other religions from participating.

It's not just the religious/spiritual board.
Have you taken a look at the Gay/Lesbian board? The hatred spewed there is awful.
Or the politics board? Same thing.
Some people are just contentious, some people just like jerking your chain, some people just like joking around.
Don't take it personally.

I find people take offence WAY too easily here. Simple disagreement is interpreted as hate. Disagreement isn't hate. We know who the provocative posters here are and you should really ignore them if they don't agree with you.
And no, it doesn't bother me. People ARE allowed to disagree with me, see?

Because theirs alot of kids and some sicko's on here. Some of them post disgusting questions perverting God and have obscene avatars. All we can do is report them. There are alot of intelligent people on here, too. Just choose your questions wisely. And yes, it does bother me.
