Before people were living together, part of not spending the night with your fiance was so that the bride and groom didn't see each other on the wedding day until the ceremony. Simply tradition, nothing more.
A friend of mine who got married a year or so ago was already living with her fiance and had wanted to spend the night before the wedding (after the rehearsal dinner and whatnot) with him for some quiet time. He preferred staying with the groomsmen. *shrug* Do whatever works for you.

A lot of these "superstitions" originated in other cultures for reasons having nothing to do with good or bad fortune. "Seeing a bride before the wedding" ? Well, in countries and cultures where marriages were arranged, the bride and groom may not meet before the wedding. White dresses have nothing to do with purity and everything to do with proving your family is wealthy enough to buy you a dress that's only used one time. Bridesmaids all dressed up--they used to be dressed like the bride. That way, if a jilted lover tried to kidnap her, he'd have a harder time picking her out of the crowd. I think all these superstitions are idiotic.

Well, we are having the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner the night before. We are going to get a hotel since our wedding is in a different state and just hang out with family and friends. But we are too cheap to get two hotel rooms!! LOL

My husband and I were already living together before our wedding day. We spent the night together and he left at 8am the next day so that my bridal party could get ready.

My husband and I lived together before we were married. He ended up staying at home and throwing a bachelor party w/ a few friends, and I ended up going to my mom's for some drinks and just chatting. It was fun.

I think that tradition is a little outdated. One of my coworkers spent the night with her maid of honour the night before her wedding.

my sister lives with her husband. so before the wedding day, my sister had to go to our house and she slept there for one night. we do that in our culture, you're not supposed to see your husband the night before the wedding.

It's the morning of the wedding first of all.
Second of all you (the bride) have to go to your parent's house to get ready anyhow.
