Judaism does not have intermediaries to God. Anyone can pray directly to God without needing someone else to act as a go-between.
To differentiate itself from Judaism, Christianity created some ideas that were in direct contrast to Judaism. One of those ideas was that you need an intermediary to pray to God. Some of the other ideas that were contrary to Judaism include:
1) Circumcision was no longer necessary
2) You could eat non-Koser food.
3) People are born as sinners and need to be "saved"
4) Sex is bad and can only be used for pro-creation
5) God is not one, but three

G-d can't control people. G-d could conceivably do something like, say, part the sea because its just manipulation of physical phenomena. but humans have another dimension, we have free will. we can't be controlled, we can only be influenced. people like prophets are the biblical way in which G-d influences us and ecourages us to do what we should be.

He's God. He is omnipotent. He can do whatever He wants. He wants to rely on not only prophets, popes, and priests.
HE WANTS TO RELY ON YOU AND ME.
Love Him with all your heart, soul, and strength.
LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.

God, the Holy of Holies, is sovereign, and relies on absolutely no human being for anything, he sent His prophets, if you believe out of faith, that is up to you, nobody is forced to believe His word, unlike the false 'prophet' mohammed

God uses various individuals for His purposes. He does not rely on anything or anyone. He is totally self-sufficient, and does not "need" us for anything.
