Would Black Horse and a Cherry Tree be a good song to sing for this talent show? What about Irreplaceable by Beyonce? As many suggestions as possible, please! The talent show is based on the audience's applause. I'm a strong alto, and a stronger soprano. Would this work for me? I have a few months or so to prepare for. P.S. I'm a girl, remember. I would like to sing a song by a female artist?? No 'funny' songs please.

I don't want to brag, but I sound almost exactly like Beyonce, trust me, I'm not a wanna-be like the crappy people on American Idol. :)

Beyounce song is good, but I would choose from the following if you say u can sing an know u have a good voice go wit these:

-Beyounce- Irreplaceable
-Ciara- Promise
-Aaliyah- One in a Million or Age Aint Nothin But A Number
-? - His Eye Is On The Sparrow
-Mariah Carrey- any one of her songs would work
-Vivanin Green- Emoshional Rollercoaster
-Mary J. Blige- any one of her songs

There are plenty of great songs out there, if I was in your position I personally would sing a song thats kinda old. Im sure teenagers aint gonna be the only ones in the audience voting. Not a ancinet song like one of Lioniel Riches, but a song that alot of people know and can relate too.

Well, I think something from a musical would be good. Defying Gravity - Wicked (this is originally a duet, but you could make it into a solo) Popular - Wicked I can hear the bells - Hairspray Cooties - Hairspray I feel pretty - West side story Maria - West side story What i did for love - A chorus line One - A chorus Line On my own - Les Miserables Castle on a cloud - Les Miserables Candle on the water - pete's dragon Big blonde, and beautiful - Hairspray I know where I've been - Hairspray I've just seen a face - Across the universe Blackbird - Across the Universe Or you could sing a disney song When she loved me - Toy story 2 Magic of love - Swan Princess Far longer than fprever - Swan princess (also a duet, which you can change to a solo) etc...... Good luck!

You should sing Fever by Peggy Lee. Seriously, it's an older song but if you sing somethign so new and popular, than people are going to be comparing you to the artist and they will be dissapointed you don't sound exactly like their favourite singer. Fever is a great song, very sexy, and it is a great vocal showcase. Just go get a CD of iti and listen to it, or listen to it on Amazon. It is a surefire hit, in my opinion.

welll........
black horse and a cherry tree sounds more of an alto song to me....i have a hard time with that one and i'm a soprano. i was in chorus through middle and high school and my teachers always told me to stay away from the "diva" type singers....aka mariah carey, beyonce, whitney houston. their ranges and melodies are rarely ever duplicated, so unless you sound exactly like them, people will not like it as much as the original. go for something without too much scale-hopping.....maybe something from a broadway show or by allison krauss. stick with something you will be comfortable in and have fun doing and not something you will struggle through.

Sing what your HEART tells you to sing. Don't worry about what other people think. If you don't feel it, the audience won't either. People can tell when you're faking it. Really want to set yourself apart? Do the one song everyone is afraid to touch--I Will Always Love You. Works for me EVERYTIME.

it depends on what voice you have, i have sung so many songs before and i have to say this is a strange choice, almost perfect, i can help but notice she has a husky voice, if you have a husky voice then go for it, if you dont then make it your own, you dont have to sound like KT tunstal to sound good right?

maybe go totaly diffirent and sing Kelly Clarkson - A Moment Like This

go for it, x
