They do, yes.

Look at certain actors who are British and play Americans in movies.
For instance, the lead actor in "House" is British.

I lived in Paris for 2 years and it always amazed me when a French person would speak English to me with an English accent.
There were times I asked if the person was from Britain, and they said no, but they learned English from a Brit.

I agree with the person who wrote about singing, too.
There were French people who could sing American songs with a perfect English accent or rather an American accent, and yet they could not speak one word of English.
It was truly amazing.

definite. Many people do imitate different American accents too. The Southern Midlands and Deep South accents spoken with a drawl or nasal twang are the main popular ones. the subsequent maximum popular one is probable the Boston accessory. We had a family contributors in my Seattle community as quickly as from Boston, the Daniels. My sister advised me that at some point (against her greater advantageous judgement) she grew to become into imitating Mrs. Daniels' Boston accessory good in front of her. She mentioned: "Pæk the cæh, Pæk the cæh (Park the automobile, Park the automobile). Mrs. Daniels have been given very mad at her and mentioned "Ah yew makin' funna me?" (Are you making exciting of me?). surprisingly, the long island accessory isn't imitated or poked exciting at of by skill of people yet i don't be attentive to why. it remains the accessory it is utilized in quite some radio and television commericials in usa for the reason that maximum advertising companies are in long island. i've got heard a number of people in my place of birth of Seattle say that they think of the long island accessory sounds previous shaped or strange yet this is all. nonetheless, no longer each and every American has a penchant for imitating accents. some have implied to me that they think of this is rude. Many others only haven't any activity in accents or languages in any respect and of their international English is English inspite of the accessory.

When I visited London, they just got a real kick out of my accent. To the English, American dialect sounds the way that we imagine cowboys to speak, I believe.

They do indeed. Remember Monty Python? They played Americans in their skits sometimes. They never sound right to me, but they do sound funny nonetheless.
