Im trying to start a campaign at my high school to try to get people to switch there light bulbs so it can help global warming because i heard halogen and florecent lightbulbs are the best!
well i would like to know how long the light bulbs last what the effects og the light bulbs on the earth and which one is a better buy and if you can also provide any other information you would think is helpful

Using these bulbs will in fact give you more light while using less electricity, but the impact on global warming will be too small to make any difference. Use them for the money you save on your electric bill and not because they save the planet.

Florescent light bulbs are actually the best. They use approximately 16 W depending on the type, though there is a range.

Conventional incandescents use 60 W.

Halogens also have a wide range, mostly from 25-50 W.

A lightbulb with fewer watts uses less energy per time, meaning that the power demand decreases. Plus, you save on your electricity bill. Saving money should really be your main selling point. The environmental benefit is also a plus.

Hi. Anything that folks do to reduce pollution, including reducing Greenhouse gases, is a good thing. Even better would be for everyone to plant a few trees as well.

Fluorescent is the best we have right now, but keep your eyes open for more and more applications for LED lights. They use even less power than fluorescent.

halogen and flourecent lights are better because they use less electricity. Therefore they use less fossil fuel and create less polution.
