There is a man who lives on the top floor of a very tall building. Everyday he gets the elevator down to the ground floor to leave the building to go to work. Upon returning from work though, he can only travel half way up in the lift and has to walk the rest of the way unless it's raining! Why?

He's a little person and can only reach the elevator button that's halfway up.
Oh, yeah, I forgot about the raining part. He uses the umbrella to push the top floor's button.

he is very short and can only reach half way and when its raining the water will fill the elevator and he will be able to touch the top floor button.

Because he's a midget, and can't reach the higher buttons. When its raining, he uses his umbrella.
