Why won't Microsoft Streets and Trips 2007 with GPS locate me!?

Installed software and GPS unit on my laptop.
The GPS unit lights blue when plugged into the USB port (using included USB cable and black "adapter" included in package).

Tried to have software "locate me" in my house (to test software).
Got a message that the software has found a WIFI network, but get an error message that the software can not locate me.

Is the issue that it won't work in the house or is it something else?

Yes, GPS signals are not really that strong. Go outside and it should work fine.
