I once heard it said that Hell is, " Having to live your life over and over again, knowing full well what your mistakes and sorrows would be, and not being able to do a thing to stop it, and feel the pain of the events and actions more intensely each subsequent time! " I don't know about you, but I have lived long enough to know that this particular concept of Hades, quite frankly, SCARES THE HELL OUT OF ME!! What an incentive to love with all your heart, strength, and spirit!!! Heaven and Hell need not be explained in material or human terms, because it would not be understood. If it is experienced by the spirit (the power that drives our emotions), I don't blame you for not believing it exists. Rather than not believing in it's existence, you should strive to never become even as much as a tourist to Hell, never mind a permanent resident!

The degree of punishment will be commensurate with one's sin against the light which one has received.
One good passage that indicated degrees of punishment is Luke 12:47-48: "That servant who know his master's will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be BEATEN WITH MANY BLOWS. But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be BEATEN WITH FEW BLOWS. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked". Other verses on this issue include MAT 10:15; 16:27; Rev. 20:12,13; 22:12.
Jesus affirmed that the wicked "will go away to ETERNAL punishment, but the righteous to ETERNAL life" (Mat 25:460

Fear is needed by all governments. An governments can use religion to keep people in check. As for me I believe in God and not a religion. Religion is more hurtful than helpful and we have twisted it over many hundreds of years. If there is a hell I think you would be spending it alone and that it self is punishment enough to say it's hell.

I believe the bible and it says that anyone who's name is not in the Lamb's book of Life is going to hell. (The way to get your name in the book of life is by repenting and asking Jesus into your heart) Hell is described as the Lake of Fire, it burns forever and was originally intended for the Devil and the fallen angels that went with him. Being a just God, how can he give us any less than the devil for disobedience.

I do not believe in Hell. I think it is a place that was created in the mind of John (the John that wrote Revelations) in order to instill fear in the people in order to get them to follow Christianity and the Church.

I think Hell is the place where lost souls eventually wind up at,
until they figure out that there is a better place t work towards.
Place full of lost souls that don't know whats going on yet....
sounds scarey to me...

I don't believe in hell either, but if I did, I'd say it was a room with no windows, gray walls, and a chair. And you sit on the chair and stare at the walls for all of eternity.
