I've had my dvd player for a year, it worked fine until last week-end, I inserted the disk ok and it started spinning, but the TV was not projecting the image. I checked the connections and they seemed fine. Any suggestions as to what may be going on?

Try it with another TV (borrow a small one from a friend, relative or neighbor if you don't have another one yourself). Try a different DVD to see if it is only the one that may be bad. Find the manual and read the trouble-shooting section. Remove all the connections and replace them (checking is sometimes not enough). Make sure all your settings are right.

If the tv screen is lighting up, the problem is very possibly the connection. Or you are possibly erring with a button on either remote. I am unfamiliar with Dvd players but Vcrs must coincide with the same base channel as the television set ususally channel 3 or 4.

Easiest way is to try it on another TV. If it happens again then you know it's the player & not the TV. But it can also be the cable you are using. Is it composite, component, s-video, dvi, or hdmi? If you have extra cables try them to see if that's the problem.
