I'm 21 and I am not a morning person - really never have been. But unlike all my previous semesters, I have to be up at either 8 or 830 each morning. This means I need to go to bed at 1200 or 1230 am if I want a full night's sleep.

Problem is, I'm never tired at 1200 or 1230 and I've been waking up significantly more tired than when I went to bed. I spend the day basically dragging my rear around because I'm tired and that is not fun.

I sleep much better and feel so much better when I can go to bed at 130, 200 or later and get up at 930, 1000 or later. People have been telling me I've been moody and short-tempered this week, perhaps a testament to being tired.

Any ideas or suggestions? Maybe it has something to do w/ my body clock?

Try going to be at "your" time and catching a few cat naps...next semester, schedule night classes instead. Everyone has their own circadian rythym for sleeping...You're just a night owl! Not a bad thing, mind you.

I'm assuming that you're a college student--if so, why didn't you choose classes that met later in the day--or in the evening?

You can help yourself get to sleep earlier by trying the supplement Melatonin--which even helps people who work rotating shifts or have jet-lag. Read label carefully, to make sure that you are not using something else that would react badly with Melatonin.

You can also try drinking Chamomile Tea, and using lavender aromatherapy (candles, incense, shampoo, house cleansers, etc)--lavender and chamomile are very relaxing, and may help you to fall asleep easier.

Warm baths and warm milk also help people to become tired.

Good luck, and Melatonin is available at pharmacies, supermarkets, K-Mart, etc. over-the-counter.

it sounds like ur having a bout of depression. it will cause u to feel that way, because depression can cause u to lose energy, have self doubt. there is a fine line between anger and depression. let me suggest to you a few things to do; somethink is bothering you, so find a close trusted friend to sit down with and talk about whats bothering you, if you dont know whats bothering you, try to remember what you were feeling when you were angry.the sleep pattern is the results of ur inner feelings. talk to someone as much as you can. ull be surprised, how much better u will sleep and feel better. beat up on a pilllow when ur angry when no one is around. if u feel like crying go ahead its ok. it sound silly but it works an will take time.ill pray for u. ull be fine. god bless

Suck it up wussy. Wait 'til you get out of college and have to work two jobs, get up at 3 in the morning, get home after 6pm, and have kids. Oh, then go to work on Saturdays too.

Know that you are geting up for a purpose ~ your education to land you a great job or jobs so you can raise your family!

It 'could-be' any number of things,.....

Best to get a Doctors' opinion,....

Get a physical,....or, if You can't afford the blood-tests, etc..... try donating some blood, they'll test it for You, and notify You if there's something 'seriously' wrong with Your blood-sample.
