I waited about 2 weeks I believe. My whole circle of friends had babies about the same time and not one of us waited the whole six weeks. It is entirely up to you. It's gonna hurt like hell. Make sure you use a condom and lots of lube and stop if it's too uncomfortable.

i broke that one and depending on your pain level you can start as soon as three weeks. you can also try different things until you fully heal. But i waited three weeks until i started full intercourse and i took it one day at a time because once your mate tries to penetrate you it will feel like you are having sex for the first time all over again and it will hurt. I had an epesiotomy and it was painful and i think that the doctors want you to wait the six weeks because of the post pardum bleeding and the pain that you could feel after giving birth. But for every person it is different. I know that I had raging hormones and i wanted it bad but i knew that i would be in too much pain if i just jumped right in there so you can start trying but you have to take it slow and wait until you are not in pain or bleeding to start trying to have intercourse. It will feel funny for it is just like having sex for the first time and you still have those pregnancy hormones so things can be reeking havoc on your body because it is trying to change back to what it was. So take your time and take it slow. and be careful that you do not hurt yourself because even after the six week period your body is still healing. so take your time. god bless.

I broke that rule after I had my first and had sex three weeks later. It was the most painful experience of my life. This time around, I waited the full six weeks and was fine.

I had an episiotomy with my son, but I healed quickly. We had sex (very carefully) 3 weeks later, when i had finished bleeding. They suggest 6 weeks, but as long as you feel ok, it should be alright. Also, when you have sex again it will hurt, so take it slow.

You do need to wait awhile to heal. If your husband gets impatient, use your hands.
