I wonder if, animals can wonder?

I believe they can. Whenever I spend the night at my girldfriend's apartment, my cat comes running over when I walk in the door and gives me a very long meow, quite unlike the greeting I get from him when I come home at a normal time. So his different reaction to me tells me two things - 1) he noticed that I didn't come home when I was supposed to and 2) he reacted to it. So yes, I believe animals know more than we're willing to admit. Just because we can't see or understand something doesn't me it's not there.
