The best way to avoid a hangover is to make sure that you take some Ibuprofren and drink a big glass of water before you go to sleep. Just keeping yourself hydrated seems to work too if you choose not to take medication.

Lighter and better made liquors are a little easier on hang overs. The cheap and/or dark liquors tend to make you more hung over. Alternate between drinks and glasses of water while drinking, also try some gatorade or vitamin water the morning after to replace electrolytes. Advil or other NSAIDS can help, but can be a little harsh on an already sensitive stomach. Eat some bread or crackers when you take them.

I don't know if drinking aspirin after you've had a lot of alcohol is a good idea, but I've heard that it helps.
For myself, I always make sure to drink a few glasses of water right before I go to sleep on nights when I've had too much to drink, and I rarely wake up with hangovers the next day.

Alcohol in general is suger and carbs. When you drink, you body diverts water to processing alcohol out of your system. So, basically a hangover is severe hydration. The best way to avoid/lessen a hangover is to drink a glass of water for each drink you consume. Also, make sure to eat a good meal that has proteins and carbs. It will help absorb some alcohol and make it easier to process. happy drinking!!
P.S. DON'T take any painkillers if you have alcohol in your system. It can/will make you very sick and damages your stomach and liver. It's better to have a slight headache than liver failure. :-)

There are pills for that now. You take one before drinking and one after the party is over and apparently they work. What I don't recall right now is the name of the pill. But ask for them in any drug store, I know that they have them in Spain and Dominican Republic for sure. I don´t know if they have it in the United States or any other country.
You can also make sure that you don´t drink on an empty stomach, and for every drink of alcohol, drink a non-alcoholic beverage in order to balance your system.
Have Fun !!!

Take everyone else's advice, but try to get some South American wine that does not contain sulfites. It's hangover proof as long as you eat.

Don't mix your drinks and stay off wine & champagne. Drink a large glass of water before bed with a multi B vitamin.
