I will tell you a story. A long time ago, a wise sage was walking through a forest on a lovely, hot day. In time he came across a clearing in the forest where a river was running close by. He noticed a dog by the river. The wise sage decided to sit down and watch the dog for a while. The dog was obviously extremely thirsty and was frothing at the mouth but everytime the dog went to drink from the river, it shrank back. The wise sage decided to take a closer look and see what the dog was so afraid of. He stood quietly by the river and watched this dog approach the river again..and again, the dog reeled back from the river. The sage was amazed...the dog was seeing his own reflection in the river and was very afraid! The wise sage sat again and watched the dog get thirstier and thirstier until at last, half crazy with dehydration, the dog sprang and plunged his whole body into the river. The dogs reflection disappeared and the dog lapped at the water barking and jumping with delight.

You are that dog, jump in the river and lap up all of life's riches. The only one you are afraid of is yourself.
