Temporary Word files are suddenly showing up in my file folder where I store Word documents.?

What do I do to get rid of them and stop them from appearing again?

That is normal. When you start typing on an existing document, a copy of the original is made so just in case you use the "undo" feature the program knows what your Word document looked like before you updated it.

They should all disappear when you close your file. If they don't it is safe to delete them...
