Having spent 8 1/2 years traveling, 2 1/2 in Europe, 2 1/2 in Nigeria and the rest in different places in the US. (and gone on mission trips to Central America and Ireland) I found when I came home I appreciated what I have here so much more.....things like lights that come on when you flip the switch, running water (I remember a time in Nigeria having to wash my hair with bottled water.), microwaves, meals that don't take 2 hours to cook, air conditioning & central heat. I've learned that I am so blessed to live in the US. While in the other places I had the blessing of getting to know so many wonderful people, and that I always had a place to stay...usually in people's homes.

A missionary I know is living in Hungary. He can appreciate his own home and country more, but also has learned to love a new group of people. He has learned to step outside of his comfort zone, and grow in new ways. He is blessed by having more confidence, and spirituality by relying on others and God.

Humility. I remember growing up, my parents didn't have the money to buy me the name brand items. This was hard on me as I wanted to fit in with the rest of the kids at school. When I was able to mingle with the locals of a third world country I realized the children had no shoes and would constantly get splinters and infections on their feet. I networked with others back home to send shoes, new or used. One day I observed a small crowd of children gathering and making a commotion. I proceeded to ask one of the workers there and asked what was all the fuss about. She told me that one of the village boys was showing off his new pair of shoes. A minute later, I observed the little boy excited and pleased with his new shoes. He wore a pair of old, black girls' slippers that were slightly bigger than what he needed. This hit me in so many ways. I turned my back as I smiled at him to shed a tear. I felt the presence of God there with me,in the little boy, teaching me what I failed to learn in my youth. That was a moment that I will never forget,a story I look forward to sharing with my children. That day Christ revealed himself to me in the form of a poor, humble and happy little boy.

Nothing, the bible tells us in the end times that there will be blood from one end of the earth to the other. This will happen when the great trouble comes. At this time Jesus will deliver his people from the trouble to a place of safety. You must study the word of God to understand this.
