The highest rank in the British Army is field marshall. This rank is only ever used during time of war as far as I know.

Technically its Your Majesty as the sovereign is the Commander of all British Forces, however the highest rank obtainable by non-royals is Field Marshall.

Its now General. Before Defence cuts over the past 15 years it was Field Marshall. Prince Philip is still a FM as ranks granted before restructuring are still valid although no more will be granted.

You can get this info from wikipedia.
It should be Field Marshall, as there's only one of them in the entire British Army.
Its the equivalent to a 5-star general, you can't have two of them.

I think that it is Field Marshal, which is equivalent to the U.S. Army's General of the Army [5 star general].

Yes it is Field Marshall, but they are only appointed in time of war and I don''t mean the Iraq war more like something similar to WW2.
