I love flapjacks, this is a recipe my dearly departed Nan used to make:
8oz rolled oats
4oz marg or butter
4oz sugar
1 tablespoon golden syrup

Melt marg, sugar and syrup in a pan then stir in the oats well.
Press into a greased tin.
Bake in a moderate oven(180c) for 20 minutes. Less if you have fan assisted.
Cut into strips when cool, leave in tin until cold.

Hope this is ok. Happy baking :)

Is a flapjack the same as a pancake??

1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
3 tblsp. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 or 2 slightly beaten eggs
3 tblsp. melted butter
1 to 1 1/2 cups milk

Beat together by hand & drop into well greased pre-heated griddle or fry pan.

We love em. You can through in some blueberries if you want.

Try the following delicious recipes
Whole Oat Flapjacks
4 oz (110 g) soft brown sugar
4 oz (110 g) butter or margarine
1 rounded dessertspoon golden syrup
6 oz (175 g) whole oats (or porridge oats)
¾ teaspoon ground ginger
Pre-heat the oven to gas mark 2, 300°F (150°C).

First place the sugar, fat and golden syrup together in a saucepan and heat it gently until the fat has melted, giving it a stir now and then. Take the saucepan off the heat and stir in the porridge oats and ginger, mixing thoroughly. Now pour the mixture into the prepared tin and press it out evenly, using a tablespoon or the back of your hand. Bake in the centre of the oven for 40-45 minutes. Then allow the mixture to cool in the tin for 10 minutes before cutting it into oblong bars. Leave in the tin until quite cold before removing them. Store in a tin.

2. Transfer the oat mixture to the prepared cake tin and spread to about 2cm (¾in) thick. Smooth the surface with the back of a spoon.
