Well the same thing happened to me. But I did find that you can get a series of shots which MIGHT allow alergens to be tolerated
by your immune system.

Also, you might want to carefully consider a food experiment (do this with your doctors approval), take some shellfish you like and make sure it's REALLY cleaned well and then prepared properly, see what your reaction is.

I am horribly allergic to regular shellfish like you might get at some restaurant but if I prepare it myself, I can eat shimp cocktail and lobstertails just fine , I sometimes do need an allegra or zyrtec afterwards but the reaction is MUCH MUCH less than at a restaurant and totally manageable.

Basically, it's a matter of the fact that no matter what shellfish are not a particularly "clean" food since they are (except for squid) bottom feeding or filter feeding animals, they get whatever crap (literally) is in the water.

Fish will reject/spit out/not eat some things if they don't "taste" right, shrimp/lobsters/crabs aren't so picky.

Also, I used to / still do love Shrimp Scampi, I discovered Chicken Scampi instead, just as tasty and it's chicken, so no harm done. (except to the chicken).

Sorry to tell you but there's no cure at this point. Be sure to always let doctors know this. You're probably also allergic to iodine, betadine, and medications that contain these. Read yor labels carefully.

I can sympathize with you. When I was 30, I became allergic to all poultry.
