My tattoo itches?

I got it when I was 18 I'll be 24 this May is it normal for it to itch. It's itched before but it didn't strike me as strange until now. Should I be worried?

Somehow the scar tissue under the tat got irritated. All scars do this at some point. You'll be alright.

All tattoos will itch from time to time and its from the scar tissue that may be built up.

Scratching it generally won't hurt the image. I wouldn't be worried if I were you unless the area is very painful, heated or bright red.

If you want, talk with a tattoo artist and/or a dermatologist about the issue, but it happens to mine and I was told it fairly normal.

Mine itched for many years.
I had red in mine. I think it was the red. The red also peeled and itched it not covered with extreme sunblock, I put it on with a qtip. The red wings finally stopped itching years later. Saw a dermotologist, I had no problem.
Seeing the doctor will put your mind at ease.

you could always have a dermatologist check it but mine do that all the time - I have 8 - they even raise as if they were three dimensional... it is the way the skin/body reacts to the ink - use some burts beez ointment on it - this will help - you can usually find it at walgreens, bartells or fred meyers.

i say if its not all red or infected no don't worie it may just be the winter dry skin use extra moisteriser .......
