According to christianity Adam & Eve were created wich cancelled out the whole idea of evolution, is that right?

If that's the case does that mean there are no Archeologists who are christian?

There are plenty of Christians who don't put time limits on the 'days' of creation but who draw the line at humanity evolving from animals. They insist Adam and Eve were special, unique creations, made in the image of God, and no evolution applied to their appearing on earth. You're not thick, just confused by the clamour of different voices, especially after posting this question!

Being thick is one thing but being careless and slack and ill disciplined is quite another.

According to God, Adam and Eve were created by Him. The account is found in the Bible, His word.

Take it or leave it but at least don't misrepresent it. Oh if only people would pay attention to what it actually says instead of some secondhand, garbled misrepresentation. What a morass of confusion and ignorance abounds.

If you think that the Adam and Eve story is the sole property of Christians, then perhaps you are thick after all. These two appear in both Judaism and Islam too; in fact they only appear in Christianity courtesy of Jesus Christ, who was a Jew. As for archaeology - many denominations have archaeologists among their ranks.

Nice avatar!

I think you're confusing 'Christians' with 'Creationists'.

Creationists are Christians who take the biblical book of Genesis literally. But not all Christians are creationists.

It's creationists who deny evolution.

I have a friend who is a Christian and an Archaeologist and doesn't have any problems. But then it's Palaeontologists who study fossil evidence and who might have the greatest difficulties. Though presumably, if they use their God-given minds as my friend has done, they too can resolve the issue.

Yep, you're thick.
Many Christians - notably the Anglicans and Roman Catholics - believe that there are many parts of the bible which are not meant to be taken literally - like the fable of Noah, or the story of Adam and Eve.
Of course, there are a lot of nutty creationists out there too, but - outside of the USA - they are not in the majority... thank gods.
There are a lot of christian archaeologists, but, like most scientific disciplines, the process of exercising logical thought usually leads to atheism or agnosticism.

I don't care either way but seems to me the basic logic of this question is wrong. They might be looking for Adam and Eve's bones - the generations mentioned in the bible going back to them make it about 6,000 years ago! Most archaeologists are probably working in that period anyhow as it covers about 6/10 of civilisation.

Most archaeologists are atheist, but there are some who are theistic evolutionists who may or may not consider themselves Christian, and there are others who are creationist archaeologists, who look for Flood evidence in the fossil record and look for relics in the Holy Land. Out of these three groups, the latter group has been the most satisfied with their findings. That is, what they have found is what they would have expected to find.

Adam and Eve is a story, cancled out with the discovery of the theory of evoloution.

Archeology is the study of human cultures through the recovery, documentation and analysis of material remains and environmental data, including architecture, artifacts, biofacts, human remains, and landscapes.

The theory of evoloution goes back much further than our species, and is dug up by Palentologists - the study of the history and development of life on Earth, including that of ancient plants and animals, based on the fossil record (evidence of their prehistoric existence as typically preserved in sedimentary rocks). This includes the study of body fossils, tracks (ichnites), burrows, cast-off parts, fossilized feces (coprolites), palynomorphs and chemical residues.

Yes.

Not at all.

Hundreds of Archeologists are both Christian and Graduate practicing Archeologists.

that depends which kind of Christian you're talking about, some strictly follow the Bible and believe every last word, whereas some others full embrace the evolutionary theory
