My whippet was attcked by a dog that got loose in the park yesterday. She has stiches across her neck and is not supposed to wear a collar until she is healed. Would something like a harness work for a sighthound? Or is there something else we could get?

You could try a web harness, then you can punch more holes in it to fit her. I wouldn't feel overly safe with her in a harness, Whippets are pretty good at wriggling out of things, so watch her closely.

You might have quite a problem getting a harness to fit a Whippet's head properlly. We have always used a real wide cloth collar on Whippets so that the coat on their neck remaines in good condition.

You could use a harness temporarily

i believe a harness should be fine, just make sure it fits her correctly.
