Try not to drink any alcohol or caffiene for a few hours before bed. Also don't eat anything for a few hours before bed too. All of these keep your body working and make it harder to sleep. Some exercise, maybe a brisk walk in the evening can help use up some energy too.
To relax before bed, a warm bath is good. Read for a while as that is relaxing (not a horror or scary book!) have some warm milk, hot chocolate or cammomile tea. If all this fails, then consider buying in some Kalms, or Valerian tablets. They are a natural herbal aid, which eases stress and works great to help sleep, I used to take two, half an hour before bed.
Good luck :)

You can not make your self more tired for the simple reason, that you brain won't let you. Now let me explain then run off to the doctor because there is nothing you can do. In the brain there is what's called serotonin, this makes us happy or sad and regulates the way we sleep or like you how much/little sleep we get. The brain manufactures serotonin to much you literally want to fly to little your so sad and empty you can't get out of bed. Even if you forced your self to stay up all day with no naps come evenings you still wouldn't be able to sleep at night. I have a friend like that and she's the same way.So don't be embarrassed about this.it's a lot more common than you think.

It's not a problem with being tired, you need to establish a rhythm. Don't sleep in even on the weekend until you get this rhythm established. Avoid afternoon naps longer than about 20 minutes. Go to bed at the same time and get up at the same time every day, to establish a sleep and rest cycle. Do basically the same things in the same order every night to give yourself that "time to sleep" feeling. Take a hot bath or shower to relax. Turn off the TV and computer at least 2 hrs before bed because the blinking screen and noise stimulate the brain. Drink a hot soothing drink like chamomile or linden tea, or even Horlicks. Have a bit of a read in bed, or listen to some calming, chill-out type music. Keep your bedroom slightly cooler than the rest of the house; then your blankets will feel good to you and you will associate it with the "warm nest" feeling.

Get a properly structured day, with a good balance of excercise rest and meals. After a while you'll be back to normal, unless you have an underlying phychological problem which you probably havn't anyway but if you have you havn't and then it will go away. Seriously, just structure the day which is a nuisence because there's so much to stay up for these days, not like years ago when sleeping was all there was do do at night and there was always too much work to get through in daylight just to survive. We can do too much entertainment now and get out of the habit of a good night's sleep.

Spend less time in front of your computer. That's not a nasty answer. The computer stimulates your mind (honest, they do) and so it takes ages to "cool down" when you stop. Ironically, reading a good novel actually can relax the brain.
Apart from the obvious things like takeing a brisk walk about an hour before bed time, and drinking camomile tea. Try not eating or drinking tea/coffee/cocoa for at least 3 hours before retireing.

i change into like that too. I used to perchance sleep for an hour, then be wide awake with excitement something of the evening. It change into so annoying. perchance you may want to attempt eating some warmth milk, take a warmth bathtub, and browse previously you sleep? interpreting makes the mind drained at evening and it really is going to make you experience like you're about to drift off. I also discover that last your eyes and forcing your self to do no longer something yet attempt to sleep easily enables, because you basically slip into sleep without noticing. sturdy success!

You can sleep late tonight and get up early tomorrow morning, I do it all the time, but you can't do it two days in a row, otherwise then you'll get exhausted. But if you do it tonight you should wake up feeling quite refreshed. I don't quite get how it works, but with me, it definitely works.

Have a walk in the late evening. Fresh air makes you tired. Or you can try a bit of exercise.

You can come over and watch my one year old that is teething. She is sure to keep you up all night. You will be so tired the next day you will not know what to do with yourself. Especially having to work all day!
