Thyroxine how long does it take to take Effect?

I take Thyroxine, I have done for many years, in the past I have monitored myself and increase or decreased the dose to suite my requirements.
I have been experiencing palpitations, and have reduced my dose, I wanted to know how long it takes the system to flush the dosage of Thyroxine tablets, so I could stop taking Thyroxine, clear the system, then restart at a low dosage and build up to where I feel the dose is correct then have a test to see if my feeling matches the correct T4 level.

You need to see your doctor. You shouldn't be dising yourself with this medication!
