ok so i have a HUGE cold and ran out of Kleenex. SO i was using paper towels from the kitchen to blow my nose for the past few days. now, the area around the nostrils of my nose is chapped, raw, and flaky. some of the raw, flaky skin comes off when i blow my nose again and it bleeds and hurts a lot. i know, itss gross. what should i do? i have tried putting repairing lotion, creams and moisturizers around the skin but it all just comes of the next time i blow my nose and even if it manages to stay on, it just gets dry and cakey (i guess with the raw skin and occasional blood) and makes the "wound" hurt more.

HELp?

I've been there before and have used blistex, it seems to get moisture in there faster... quit using the paper towels.. a hand towel would be softer and less damaging I would think and you can just throw it in the wash (if you're concerned about it, use a white one so you can bleach it)

You could try a decongestant & get some Puffs Plus tissue. It has cream in it and is very soft.
If it's bleeding, I'd try some polysporin or anti-biotic cream to help it heal.
Unless it's leaking like a tap, try not to blow your nose if possible. Give your nose a chance to heal

Use vaseline and go out to the store and get some more tissue's! (toliet paper would work better than a paper towel!) Get the paper towel damp with water before blowing your nose.

get someone to buy kleenex for you ASAP. You're just going to have to wait until your cold is done b/4 trying to fix the skin around your nose.

GO TO THE STORE AND GET THE KLEENEX WITH THE ADDED LOTION. I get that too, so my mom only buys the tissue with lotion.
