More than likely they shared a credit card or something with both their names on it and was put on a mailing list at that time that your husband didn't even know about. That happens all the time. The fact that you say it's usually junk mail points that direction. When you receive mail for her...just mark it as "Addressee Unknown" and mail it back or write to the company letting them know that the person is not at that address and to please take the name of their mailing list.

I have been divorced for nearly 20 years. We seldom got my ex wife's mail anymore at the address we shared, but my wife of 18 years and I moved two months ago, and we have gotten more mail at the new address to the ex than we did in the last year at the old address. Please explain that to me.

It could be that he forgot to take her name off of some of his things or vice versa. But anyway he filled out a change of address form since leaving the post office sometimes gets things mixed up after doing that. Also not to raise fears but you did say she's crazy right? Well it also could be that it's her doing. Does she still use his last name? If so she could be using his name and address for certain things.

Probably because marketing companies etc that your husband and the ex-wife were signed up to just look for the husbands name, social, etc and send whatever info to the new listed address. It probably has nothing to do with anything they are hiding....most companies don't look into changes in names, family members, etc. It's similar to the way that companies come to realize that you have moved - you don't need to tell them that you've moved, they will find out from other databases usually.

Companies sell lists of names/addresses back and forth to each other. I keep getting mail for my ex-husband from home loan companies and the house was mine- I bought before I married him. Then I've received mail with his first name and my maiden name. Now I'm re-married and my father-in-law died 4 years ago and we get mail at my house addressed to him and he never lived at my house! I wouldn't worry too much. Just call the companies and tell them she doesn't live at that address and everything you receive, write "return to sender, not at this address"

I have been divorced for over 20 years and still get mail (junk, solicitation, etc.) addressed to Mr. & Mrs. all the time. I also get a lot of mail sent to me addressed as Mr...... There are mailing lists out there, a lot of them old so this will invariably happen. I wouldn't sweat it too much.

The ex is using your address as her own. Write "Not at this address" and put her mail back in the mailbox. The post office and her can figure out a way for her to receive the mail.

My mailman said they don't care who's name is on it, they deliver to the address. If you write "not at this address" or "return to sender" on junk mail they just throw it away, they don't even send it back. We get mail for both our exes. Sometimes I use the return envelope to send it back and tell them but I've continued to get mail from the same place even after doing that.

Same reason some people still get mail at a place they moved out of years ago. My dad still gets mail for my mom, who he divorced... god... 10 years ago? And his second ex, who he divorced about 5 or 6 years ago. Not really a big deal. Junk mailers just still have her on their list.

It's just the companies who buy information personal info from other companies.
Just write Not At This Address on it and put it back in the box.
