We ARE all americans. The US citizens (and I am one) are pretty much in thix boxed in world where they think they are the only one's that exist. We have the attitude that "we" are the Americans, and that Mexicans are mexicans and Canadians are Canadians. (Isnt it ironic if you visit a country overseas how they actually distinguish themselves of their countries heritage)? The French refer to themselves as French.... not European.
It seems, though, the more politically correct we become that people are trying to use the correct wordage. Maybe we will soon hear that the "Americans" will begin recognizing their heritage more and begin saying they are from the States. I mean, America is a bigggg place that spans from the northern part of Canada to the southern tip of South America. Of course, as you have pointed out, that makes us ALL Americans.

Geographically we are all Americans but most people identify themselves by their country and there is no country named America. That usually refers to the United States of America but North America also has Canada and Mexico and both South and Central Amrerica are made up of several seperate nations.

Sure we ALL are Americans. It seems that in the US schools they don´t teach kids that America is not the US.
I think is a matter of lack of education in the US schools!

We are all Americans. But, U.S. Americans sometimes generally see themselves as THE Americans. For what reason, I don't know.
