Nope. Religious people live in terror of "what might be". Non-religious people don't.

Anybody who thinks there is a correlation between happiness and religion should do some research into proving it. I'd be amazed if they found anything to support such a silly theory.
Those who think religious people are happier, assume atheists/agnostics must sit around worrying about dying. Or haven't been blessed with Jesus' love (using Christianity as an example). But this isn't logical.
There are equally spurious arguments for why atheists are happiest - no fear of damnation, etc.
But the truth is that happiness is a state of mind and it does not relate to religion.

Not always. I know a very religious person who has depression, and is probably the most unhappy person i know. Although religion might help in that it gives a community support network for people experiencing problems, and might reassure you that there is a higher power that loves you, it will not make your problems just go away. I don't know why my friend feels the way she does, when she is one of the most active christians i have ever seen. Maybe it's because depression can also be caused by genetics, and so religious belief plays little part in whether you get it.

I haven't noticed any significant difference in the two groups you mention, Religious or non-Religious, but I think people who have faith in something tend to be happier than those who have none.
There are quite a few faiths that do not believe an an all powerful, all knowing, intervening entity.

Some are, they are in an oblivious rose tinted garden of delight. Most however, are worried half to death that they not breaking some little rule or causing displeasure in their peers eyes. Happy? On the whole, religious folks are insular and very sombre by comparison to the majority of Atheists, who only have to worry about Religious folks coming along to pee in the proverbial paddling pool of happiness. Some Atheists however are miserable as sin. Poor use of language there lol.

Not necessarily!
We all have problems - religious and non-religious, because life throws us all curve balls and we have to deal with every one as they come.
Happiness is a state of thinking and living one's life without allowing the frustrations of this world to rent space in our minds, lest they decide to make a purchase.
It is believed and adviseable that being in the church, we should not allow the burdens out here get to us but, we would all be liars if we did not admit that we get hurt, we feel just as the next person and, we sometimes let those emotions come forth.
What happens with Christians is that we are taught to give our burdens to Jesus, for He cares for us. He said, "cast all your cares upon me."

No and yes. Depends all on the person. I've known some religious people who were downright miserable. I myself have no religion and i am happier than every single person that I know. I've got a great family, wonderful kids, I'm poor as I dunno what but I'm so happy I could scream! W000000H00000!
Religion has nothing at all to do with it.

No religious people are not happier but rather living in a falsely induced bed of ignorance. They are not happier just more delusional than the rest of us who realise divinity lies within oneself not within the walls of organised criminals(churches)

Those who follow Jesus Christ are much happier than those who do not. Sin may be fun for a season, but it brings death and destruction. With Christ, I now have a Father, a Best Friend, a Protector...I could go on and on! He is the answer for true joy and peace.

I'm somewhat religious but in all honesty, I doubt it. Look at the divorce rates, the suicide rates, the killing and the rest of the crimes. Circumstances change sometimes and people, religious or not, do crazy things.
