Egg, because, you see, if you believe in evolutionary processes, before the chicken there were different animals that resembled what we commonly know today as a chicken. They however used eggs as a procreation method. So, after a while, due to mutations, their offspring would become chickens. But first there was an egg.

There were eggs way before there were chickens. Th ancestors of the chickens layed eggs, even dinousaurs layed eggs.
