the bible knows things that science didn't know till over a 1,000 years later. like that every star was different
1 Corinthians 15:41
There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory.
All stars look alike to the naked eye.* Even when seen through a telescope, they seem to be just points of light. However, analysis of their light spectra reveals that each is unique and different from all others. (*Note: We understand that people can perceive some slight difference in color and apparent brightness when looking at stars with the naked eye, but we would not expect a person living in the first century A.D. to claim they differ from one another.)
The Bible describes the suspension of the Earth in space.
Job 26:7
He stretches out the north over empty space;
He hangs the earth on nothing.
Job 28:25
To establish a weight for the wind,
And apportion the waters by measure.
The fact that air has weight was pr oven scientifically only about 300 years ago. The relative weights of air and water are needed for the efficient functioning of the world’s hydrologic cycle, which in turn sustains life on the earth

Nice try.
Just because we didn't have the tools to show evidence that each star is different doesn't mean that even Bob Joe couldn't have guessed that.
Job 26:11 also says there are "pillars of the heavens". Are we going to find those pillars some day?
Job 28.25
The NIV translation reads quite differently and let's put it in context:
23 God understands the way to it
and he alone knows where it dwells,
24 for he views the ends of the earth
and sees everything under the heavens.
25 When he established the force of the wind
and measured out the waters,
26 when he made a decree for the rain
and a path for the thunderstorm,
Spin your web elsewhere.

It is a book of stories that were written in a language that has been mis-translated & poorly translated into English. The meanings of the original words had a different meaning to the people who wrote & read them centuries ago. It is a book that has an unknown origin & contains unknown meanings that people of another era & region used to get them through their daily lives. It may or may not be faith based. No one really knows. The followers & believers of the Bible rely on their FAITH when interpreting these bible stories & teachings. I believe the words have multiple meanings for the readers & cannot be defined as truth. Every person gets a different "gift" when reading these Biblical writings.

The Bible is not a fairy tale, it's simply a made up re-make of many ORIGINAL Sumerian texts which tell the ORIGINAL story. The original story told by the Sumerians (some 5000 years ago, which means MUUUUUCH MUUUUCH earlier than when the Bible was compiled), has been changed to suit the new Monotheistic Faith Israelites came up with during their captivity in Babylon in the 6th Century BC.
For your information, every kind of knowledge you find in the Bible comes from the Sumerians;) You have NO IDEA of how much some ancient civilizations were technologically advanced my friend;) the Bible and its compilers are sooooo recent compared to them;)

Now if you could just explain how 15 cubits of water can flood the Earth, I'll stop calling it a fairy tale.
P.S. In case you're not aware, a cubit is generally the length of the forearm, or can also be measured as a number of palms (6, 7, 8, or 9 depending). In general, most cubits are around half a metre, depending on whose cubit you're using.

Very silly to start something like this.
And why wouldn't an educated Egyptian or Chinaman of 2,000 BC or a Greek in 500 BC notice the colourings and brightness of stars, there were many libraries filled with books on astronomy in ancient times.

Your conclusions about ancient astronomy would be news to the Chinese, Greeks, Babylonians and anyone else who looked at the sky. Given the lack of light pollution then, the skies were quite clear.
BTW even to the unaided eye it is clear that stars vary in their brightness as seen from earth. Also please note the lack of any mention of the planets.
The other two citations are so vague as to be meaningless.

No one is really disputing whether anyone was capable of believing that each star is a unique and individual thing in the time before telescopes... they are debating the whole "son of God nailed up to provide ritual purification of the souls of mankind and yes there really really is a God whether or not you believe it so nyaaaaahh" type of stuff that is also prominently featured in your chosen work of fiction.

Oh yeah. like the Babylonians didn't know this, or the Egyptians, a heck of a long time before the bible was written. ( I am talking BC here)
Stop trying to use some trashy creationist crap to prove that an all knowing god actually dictated the Bible.
Before you even start down this path, please do some research,
You have a computer and Internet access, use it and educate yourself.

It also was written after Jesus died, by people who were not alive when Jesus was alive.
Those stars we "see"...we are only seeing the light from them. By the time that light reaches us, those stars may not even exist anymore. We think they're there, but they might not be. Does the Bible say anything about that?
