He was an actual person and did have good teachings of tolerance and non-violence that should be studied-in the correct context of course. Unfortunately fanatics have twisted his teachings and twisted his image into something it historically, is not.

i am Muslim and all Muslims believe that Jesus was a great leader and will be a great leader. We believe he will come back to live his life and basically become the great prophet he once was. However, we DO NOT believe he was the son of God since we believe God is alone with no family, son, father or otherwise. We respect Jesus a great deal and it is mentioned Quran.

Many Muslims see Jesus as a prophet. I have always thought that there are great lessons to learn from some of the stories of Jesus (that's actually what I thought Jesus was when I first started religion classes as a child), kinda like fables. I am an atheist.

I do. I think he was a very important part of the world's history, and a perfect example of God's Love that the rest of Mankind has lost touch with. I would love to share my beliefs with you, but there is not enough room to elaborate. E-mail me if you want more info.

Well I think of my self as a follower of Jesus but the people who call themselves Christians all seem to think that I'm going to hell if the messages they send are any indication. So I guess I'm not in their club.
I do my best to follow the teachings of Jesus from a book called the course in miracles.
This is a more recent revelation of the teachings of Jesus that seems to be a lot closer to the NT teachings that are attributed to Jesus Than the interpretation that is given to them by Christianity as it is currently practiced.

Hmmm, yes and no.
We have no way of knowing if Jesus actually existed, or if the accounts of him given in the Gospels are accurate, but if he did and they are...
Jesus did have some strange ideas. He urged his followers to leave their families and follow him. He rudely rebuffed his mother when she came to speak to him. He condemned a fig tree to death (that's just weird). (If you are curious about any of these, I can dig up the verses.)
So while the morality of Jesus was ahead of its time -- particularly the sermon on the mount, it's clear to me there were other, even more profound and moral teachers before and after him.

Well, I don't believe in Jesus or anything in the Bible for that matter. I'm a Druid, I believe in the deities and powers behind my religion. It'd be difficult to explain it to you without taking up a load of space for other people to answer.

Why yes I do. I believe in most of what the Bible says, however many of my interpretations are different from mainstream Christianity. I've also piled many of my own beliefs on top of them. I believe many things are not told to us because we are not supposed to know them. But mmmm boy, forbidden knowledge is almost as sweet as that darn forbidden fruit. *hugs*

Baha'is and Muslims believe that Jesus (pbuh) was a Messenger of God. People of both religions revere him (revere, not worship), believing him to be a most holy man, and that he was sent by God to give us more of His revelation. Baha'is and Muslims do not, however, believe that Jesus is or was ever God, or divine at all. He was God's Messenger and he was a man.
I heard one Jew say that he believed Jesus to be a great rabbi, but not the "son of God."
